Samantha Burbank never expected to have anything other than a normal life as a Southern California housewife and mother when she got married and left her family home at the age of 18 in 1959. But the 60's changed all that and early 1971 found her on a plane headed for what would become the most daring journey of her life. Unbelievable as it seemed she was headed half way around the world to a country that she'd had to look up in the World Atlas in order to learn exactly where it was. She was going there to join her lover, Steve. She eagerly looked forward to being greeted by Steve and to making a life with him at the camp he had built for them in the bush of the far northern region of the country, just 3 miles south of the Sierra Leone border. She had no idea that less than six months later she would be desperately escaping from that camp and speeding back to Robertsfield; literally running for her life.
